tweedledee

probably my absolute favourite fall trend is the chanel-esque tweed jacket (available by the arm-load at zara or your local thrift store). you can throw it on top of jeans and a t-shirt for a bit of a dressier denim look, pair it with pajama trousers for pattern overload, add it to a dress for some warmth at a fall dinner, pile it on top of black tights and a skirt for some colour in an adorable collegiate ensemble... i could go on and on.

meet: ianitza, a third year combined fine arts and art & sciences student (trying saying that three times fast).

her personal style: "simplicity with a punch."

sweather

continuing on with the theme of fall favourites is the big, backwoodsy sweater... warm enough to wear without a jacket, looks great with leggings, jeans, or really anything, and cozy enough to curl up in and tackle all the studying that's piling up.

meet: shannon, a first year life sciences student (they are really trendy this year!).

her personal style: "i'd generally call it vintage punk."

in the black

another of my absolute favourites for fall is pairing plain, black tights or pantyhose (this does NOT mean leggings) with just about anything. skirts, shorts, dresses, even denim cut-offs. it's all golden. and come winter, just double up on the tights, or substitute the standard opaque ones for wool!

meet: anna, a first year life sciences student.

her personal style: "i usually just match different items from my closet. oh, and i like vintage for fall."

shoes: ecco
headband: random scarf

back to cool

hey guys!

i hope you all had a wonderful summer. i swear it goes by faster every year. not that being back on campus is so bad... seeing friends, autumn colours, routines, but best of all, fall fashion. my friend lauren (also a fall girl, as you can see here) pointed out to me how much i clearly love autumn styles, and looking around campus this last week, i realize she is very right. chunky sweaters, leather boots, piled scarves... it's all so easy and looks so effortless.

so, i want to share with you all some of my favourite go-to running-to-class looks... today is the never-failing cardigan/t-shirt/scarf combo.
